Scalloped
Potatoes
Ingredients:

1kg potatoes, peeled & cut into 2mm slices.
Desiree, Anja, Bintje or Russet are good
varieties for this recipe.

150g leg
ham, finely chopped.

300ml
cream.
-
180ml
milk.
-
3/4 cup
coarsely grated cheddar cheese.
Method:
-
Preheat
oven to 180°C.
-
Grease a
casserole dish & place 1/4 of the potatoes
in a layer inside the dish.
-
Top with
1/3rd of the ham.
-
Continue
layering the potato & ham, finishing with a
layer of potato.
-
In a
small pan, heat the cream & milk until
almost boiling. Pour over potato & ham
mixture.
-
Cover
with foil & bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil
& bake a further 15 minutes. Top with
cheese, bake, uncovered around 20 minutes
until potato is tender.
