Roast Chicken Cooking Times

Cooking times are based on an oven temperature of  180°C. Cooking times are approximately 25 minutes per 500g (1 pound).

Size 1.5 (1.5 kilos or 3.3 pounds) 1 hour, 15 minutes
Size 2 (2 kilos or 4.4 pounds) 1 hour, 40 minutes
2.5 kilos (5.5 pounds) 2 hours, 5 minutes
3 kilos (6.6 pounds) 2 hours, 30 minutes
 

How do I know when the chicken is properly cooked?

Chicken is cooked when the internal temperature of the thickest part of the thigh reaches a minimum of 180°C. You can also stick a fork into the thickest part of the chicken. The juices that come out should be clear and no part of the meat should be pink.
