Hummus

hummus

Ingredients:

400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed.
1 clove garlic, peeled.
40ml (2 tablespoons) lemon juice.
40ml (2 tablespoons) tahini*
2 tablespoons olive oil.
2 tablespoons water.
1 teaspoon ground cumin.
Salt & pepper (to taste).

Method:

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.

  • Serve with fingers of Turkish bread or pita bread triangles with vegetable sticks.

Notes:

Tahini can be either purchased from a Middle Eastern food store or prepared at home.
