Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Method:

  • Lightly whisk eggs & milk in a bowl, add sugar/cinnamon (optional).
  • Add a dab of butter to a frying pan & melt over a medium-high heat.
  • Add bread slices to the egg mixture one at a time, making sure each slice is thoroughly coated.
  • Transfer bread to frying pan & cook on each side until browned.

Serve with:

French toast can be served with sweet or savory food, including;

  • Maple syrup.
  • Fruit.
  • Bacon.
  • Sprinkling of sugar.
