Crumble Recipe
Ingredients:
300g (2 cups) plain flour
175g (1 1/4 cups) brown sugar
200g unsalted butter, cubed at room
temperature
Fruit of your
choice (popular choices include apple, rhubarb,
apple, plums, raspberries & blackberry)
Method:

Preheat oven
to 180C.

Mix together
flour, brown sugar & butter in a bowl. Rub
mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Prepare the
fruit according to the type. *

Add fruit to a
baking dish.

Top with
crumble mix, pressing mixture down gently.

Bake for
approximately 35-45 minutes, until crumble
has browned.

Serve with ice
cream, custard or double cream.

Preparing fruit. Generally the fruit used in
crumble is lightly stewed. To do this, prepare
fruit by peeling (if necessary), and removing
any inedible parts. Place in a pan & add a small
amount of water, just covering the fruit. Add a
tablespoon of sugar & boil until just soft.
You may wish to add half a teaspoon of cinnamon
to the fruit mix once it's cooked.
Canned fruit can be used with this recipe.
