Yorkshire Pudding Recipe


Yorkshire pudding

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

1 cup plain flour
2 eggs,  lightly beaten
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons beef dripping or 30g lard or cooking oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

Method:

Step one (preparation):

  • Sift flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle, add eggs & salt & mix.
  • Gradually add the milk, stirring until all ingredients are mixed in. The batter should have the consistency of single milk.
  • Cover & refrigerate for two hours to allow the batter to rest.
Step two (cooking):
  • Preheat oven to 220C (430F or Gas Mark 7)
  • Add the fat to the cooking tin (you can make one large Yorkshire pudding or several smaller ones using muffin tins), place the tin in the oven.
  • Remove from oven & add a small amount of batter to the muffin tins (or a larger amount if making one large Yorkshire pudding. The fat should be sizzling hot before you add the batter.
  • Place back in oven & cook for 20 minutes or until the Yorkshire pudding is golden brown.
  • Serve immediately.
